June 10, 2022

Outdoor activities are fun either way but trying these unique outdoor activities in Barcelona is something totally different! Your mind will be stimulated in places like never before. But in most cases, you will not only be challenged mentally but also physically. You’re probably getting a little spooked now about the bold suggestions we’re about to make. But believe us – even if you need to step out of your comfort zone – they will be enriching experiences. Let’s discover them together!

Stand up paddleboard

The last few years, this water sport has been pretty popular. It’s a variation of surfing where you stand on the water surface, using a large surf board and a paddle. Since balance and core strength is the key to success, it’s best to do it in calm waters. Looking for a challenge? Then head for the sea and waves to test your balancing skills!

Hot air balloon flight

You’ve seen Barcelona from the ground now. But what about from the sky? Ballooning is a very unusual experience that should definitely be on your bucket list. You’ll get to see panoramic views of Catalonia’s landscape from a bird’s-eye view while experiencing the sensation of flying. If that’s not an amazing outdoor activity, we don’t know what is.

Scuba diving

Those intrigued by underwater life and landscape, heads up! At the beach of Platja de la Nova Icària, you can take scuba diving courses to mix things up a little. For the diving baptism, no prior scuba diving skills are necessary so it’s perfect for beginners. Are you excited for some magic moments beneath the sea of Barcelona? Then get ready to discover the fantastic world of octopuses, jellyfish, torpedo rays and colourful fish.

Rock climbing

Explore the limits of your capabilities by rock climbing. It is an active sport that puts your endurance to the test and is paired with a unique sense of freedom. The mountainous landscape of Montserrat is a beautiful place to go rock climbing and – for the ones who dare – take in the astonishing views that surround you. You can choose from as many as 500 routes with different levels of difficulty, including ones that are suitable for beginners.

Bungee jumping

You’ve heard about this one before, that’s for sure… Therefore, we’re not going to waste our breath on it too much. However, we must say this is an absolute must-do. Wondering how in the world falling into the void can be fun? Well, it’s simply the biggest adrenaline rush in the world you can seek after. Still too scary? Then jump with 2!

Cable wakeboard

Don’t underestimate cable wakeboarding. For this developing water-skiing sport, you need every single muscle in your body. However, it is one of the easiest and safest water sports to master so don’t worry too much. This sport is usually done using a boat but nowadays there are also special parks such as Olympic Cable Park. There, the boat is exchanged for a mechanical cable-towing installation. At least as much fun!
